Liposuction treatment is an outstanding cosmetic surgical procedure to remove body fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercises. It is a great option to reshape and contour the face, neck, back, arms, hips, abdomen, legs and other such areas. But, do you know the must-know facts about this body sculpting/shaping procedure? Here are some facts about Liposuction treatment:
Liposuction is not a Weight Loss Method!
Liposuction treatment is just to enhance the appearance of a body area by removing fat deposits, it is not efficient for weight loss. You might weigh a little less after a liposuction procedure, but only a limited amount of fat can be removed. You cannot expect weight loss afterwards.
Liposuction is not a treatment for Cellulite!
Liposuction can make the cellulite even worse in some cases. While in other cases, it might make the cellulite appear less prominent. But, there is no as such guarantee.
Liposuction works best on people with Firm, Elastic skin!
This body sculpting/shaping procedure is, in general, for people who are within 30% of their ideal body weight. You should have firm, elastic skin with good muscle tone to get better results from this procedure. We, at DermaClinix, take care that you have realistic expectations regarding liposuction and are completely fit to face positive changes in your life afterwards.
Liposuction has its own inherent risks!
Like any other surgery, this method also has risks, including scarring, skin discoloration, bagginess and even damage to internal organs, if you get this body sculpting/shaping treatment from an untrained, unauthorized doctor. So, make it certain that you choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with years of experience, like the one we have.
You have to limit your activities for a few weeks!
Although you can return to your daily routine within a few days, but you are advised to avoid activities demanding hard work. This is so as to overcome the swelling and understated changes occurring in the liposuction area so that you can experience the full results of this procedure.
You cannot expect instant results!
Doctors usually inject a general, regional or local anesthetic into the targeted area during the Liposuction procedure, which will wear off after the surgery. This can make you experience discomfort or severe pain, which would subside within a few days. And, removal of fatty tissue causes trauma; many people experience swelling and bruising in the treated body area. The bruising last for a week, whereas the swelling takes up to 6 months to disappear completely.
